What We Leave Behind is a poetic, emotionally restrained short film exploring grief, memory, and the pressure to move on in a world constantly demanding performance. It is a story about the invisible weight of absence, about how the people we’ve lost continue to shape the people we become.
OUR WHY
This short film explores the quiet, raw journey of coping with grief after the loss of a loved one. Through a minimalist and emotionally grounded story, we follow a protagonist processing memory, pain, and healing.
What sets this piece apart is its intentional use of fourth wall breaks, where the protagonist speaks directly to the audience. These moments are not just stylistic; they reflect the internal struggle of someone trying to make sense of their loss. The audience becomes a mirror, a memory, a companion in the grieving process.
At its core, this film is about reminding people they’re not alone in their grief, and that healing—though painful—is possible.
